Yeah, we're not terribly keen on the whole 'Battle of the Bands' thing. Well, at least not the unorganised whoever-can-bring-as-many-people-to-drink-our-beer-wins type. But there are a couple which we will do for our own enjoyment and just to see what people think of the music. To that end we have entered a couple of local events, one being this years 'Live and Unsigned' in Bristol, the thing that was on Channel 4 regularly last year, and also the Glastonbury New Talent competition, seeing as it's only down the road! The judges for these things are well known and hopefully will at least give a brutally honest opinion what what they think. We'll keep you posted on how things go! If anyone wants to come down to the Bristol gig then feel free... It's taking place on Saturday 16th February at St Georges Bristol (http://www.stgeorgesbristol.co.uk/ ) from 1:30pm. Let the Rock commence!
Live from the studio tonight, we are here discussing tracks for getting into festivals this summer. That includes Glastonbury and another local festival in the village where we live (an update later on what we've decided!). We also about to record ghost tracks for our next batch of tracks so Ryan has something to drum to on Sunday.
Update: We went with No Better and Burning in the Sun in the end... Hopefully hear some good news soon!
Here we are. This looks like it'll be the place for regular updates on what we're doing and to have a listen to new tracks as we finish recording them (well myspace too, but some will be exclusive to Vox)... Anyway Christmas is over and it's now 2008, we've had a bit of a break and drank far too much over the last 3 weeks or so, but already we have 3 new songs underway... One finished, arranged, lyrics written and ready to record and 2 more 50% complete. Expect some mixes online before the end of the month!
We seem to have hit quite a nice creative pace at the moment, songs are coming together fast, and the sound is becoming pleasingly refined as we settle back into writing as a band once again. It's just like old times, but far more polished. We're looking forward to seeing how things develop in the next 6 months!
